Good to know
Why count only billable hours?
Driving, quoting, buying parts and paperwork take time you cannot charge for. If 30% of your week is unbilled, your rate has to cover it.
What should I put in business costs?
Everything you pay to run the business in a month: vehicle and fuel, insurance, tools, phone, software, marketing and accounting.
How is the profit added?
As a margin on the price: with 15% profit, 15 cents of every dollar you charge is left after your pay and costs.
